Philips Recruiting Privacy Notice



Philips believes strongly in protecting the privacy of the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Notice describes how Philips Electronics North America Corporation (“Philips”) collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information, and about the choices you have about how your personal information is used in connection with Philips affirmative recruitment efforts. Any personal information submitted via the Philips Careers website (the “Site”) or any other Philips website, will be governed by a separate privacy notice that can be found here.This is a notice of Philips’ privacy practices; this is not an agreement or a contract.


Why we ask you to share your Personal Information

Philips, through its Talent Acquisition personnel, may contact you about receiving or using your personal information for recruiting purposes, including but not limited to notifying you about job opportunities matching your qualifications or job preferences or requesting specific information from you. Your information also may be used to manage Philips recruiting and hiring processes, including planning and monitoring recruitment campaigns, and for compliance with corporate governance and legal and regulatory requirements. If you are hired, your personal information may be used in connection with employment and corporate management.

 

The purpose of retaining your information is to offer you suitable opportunities for employment within Philips. If you do not wish to allow Philips to process your personal information for recruiting purposes, this may limit our ability to notify you of future employment opportunities at Philips.

 

Types of Personal Information we may collect

Personal Information means any information, in any form, that relates to you, that identifies you, or that could reasonably be used to identify you. Personal information may include, but is not limited to, information such as your name, address, educational background, previous employers, contact information, job qualifications, jobs for which you would like to submit an application, as well as notes from possible interviews with Philips. You may choose to provide Philips will additional information, such as your CV, resume, employment references and related information, compensation requests, and information you have made public, e.g. on professional networking websites.

How we protect your Personal Information

We recognize and take seriously our responsibility to protect the personal information you share with us from loss, misuse or unauthorized access. Philips uses a variety of security technologies and organizational procedures to help protect your Personal Information. For example, we implement access controls, use firewalls, secure servers and we encrypt of certain types of data, such as financial information, and other sensitive data.


Sharing your Personal Information with others


Philips may use trusted third parties, who act on behalf of Philips, providing recruiting and talent acquisition services. We may disclose the personal information we collect for our appropriate and permitted business purposes, which include the internal business purposes mentioned above.

If Philips allows a third party to transfer your personal data outside of your geographic region, we will take steps to protect your privacy rights through the use of contractual arrangements or other means, which will provide a comparable level of protection while the information is being processed by our trusted third parties.

Philips will release Personal Information as compelled or required by law.

Philips sometimes sells a business or a part of a business to another company. Such a transfer of ownership could include the transfer of your Personal Information directly related to that business, to the purchasing company.

Special information for parents

While Philips websites are not generally targeted at children under the age of 14 it is Philips policy to comply with the law when it requires parent or guardian permission before collecting, using or disclosing information of children.

Philips strongly recommends that parents take an active role in supervising the online activities of their children, especially when making purchases through our websites.

If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personal information of a person who is under the age of 14, please contact us at privacy@philips.com. If we become aware that a child under the age of 14 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information from our files.

Access and Updates

We respect your choices about how we use your personal data. Your personal data may be transferred from your home country to other Philips companies, in different locations around the world. These countries may not have similar data protection laws. In the event that your data is transferred outside of your country or jurisdiction, it might be treated according to the laws in those jurisdictions. We reserve the right to change or add to this Privacy Notice from time to time and will post any revisions on this Site. We encourage you to check back often to review the latest version. The new Privacy Notice will be effective upon posting, if you do not agree to the revised notice, you should alter your preferences, or consider stop using the App. By continuing to access or make us of our services after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Notice.
