We Need

Educators

innovation-and-you
"For me, education is the way to a better future. That's why I challenge myself to always be learning on-the-job at Philips as I help create innovations such as the Hemodynamic Instability Indicator which continue to define the future of healthcare. And it's why I continue to pursue my passion of teaching science, engineering, (and even robot design) to the next generation of brilliant minds once a week at a local area middle school. Philips empowers me to improve lives both on and off the job, and that generates the energy behind everything I do." - Abigail Flower, Lifelong Educator / Sr. Member Research Staff (Briarcliff Manor, NY)

Extremely Collaborative

Here you’re not just the inventor on a project. You are an important team member working alongside other research centers, internal and external business collaborators, engineers, customers, marketers and academic peers to translate innovative ideas into commercially relevant technology options. While you will be looked to as the expert in your area, you’ll be able to continuously learn from others’ specialty areas as well, in an environment fueled by a passion for co-creation.Incredibly Diverse. Most Philips Research employees find it hard to recall the last day that didn’t consist of an exchange of multi-cultural stories from peers and colleagues. Those who work in Philips Research come from over 50 countries and represent an eclectic mix of gender, lifestyle and problem solving / creative thinking backgrounds and approaches. There’s very rarely a dull moment.

Very Flexible

Unlike other organizations, where the only way to advance your career is to move into management and leave research behind, Philips Research operates a harmonized dual-ladder system that puts as much emphasis on research excellence and international recognition as it does on management skills. Job titles such as Research Fellow, Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist can be found at the top of our organization. Our policy of open innovation, which encourages alliances and partnerships with third parties around the world, exposes you to the wider research community and allows you to mix academia with industry through positions through various academic liaisons such as part-time professorships.
