Local Leader

Philips' concentration in the United States mirrors the global focus on lifestyle, healthcare and technology. This focus is driven predominately by Philips Medical Systems, now the single largest Philips business in the U.S., accounting for nearly 50% of all Philips employees and sales, matching those of all other U.S. consumer businesses combined.

Mission and vision / values and strategy

What’s our central belief? What kind of company do we want to become? What are the central values that govern our behaviour? And how do we want to achieve our objectives?

History

The foundations for what was to become one of the world's biggest electronics companies were laid in 1891 when Gerard Philips established a company in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, to 'manufacture incandescent lamps and other electrical products'.
