    What does irregular heartbeat mean?

    Published on 2017-05-18

The Philips blood pressure monitor is equipped with an irregular heart rate detector.
An irregular heart rate is detected when the heart rhythm varies above a pre-defined level while the device is measuring the systolic and diastolic blood pressure. During each measurement, this device records the heartbeat intervals and calculates the standard deviation. If the standard deviation exceeds a pre-defined threshold, the irregular heart rate detector symbol lights up when the measurement results are displayed.
This measurement is indicative, we advise you to contact your doctor for more specific measurements and advice.
