Always install the software first before connecting the player to your PC. Do this by inserting the installation CD into the CD ROM drive. The installation menu will appear automatically. (If the installation menu doesn't appear automatically then start the installation by double clicking the .exe file on the CD ROM in Windows Explorer.)
On the installation menu, select your preferred language. Click NEXT in the Welcome page.
In the Software Installation page click NEXT to start the installation of WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER and DEVICE MANAGER. At the end of the installation click YES on the screen to restart your computer when prompted, the software is now installed.
Connect your GoGear player to the computer via the USB connector using the supplied USB cable.
An application will launch and the unit will be recognized as a USB Mass Storage Class device and listed as Philips digital audio player SA255 (or SA260, etc.) in Windows Explorer automatically. You may now launch WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER and use the software to transfer your favorite music and enjoy them on your GoGear player. TIP: You may need to refresh Windows Explorer in case the computer failed to detect your GoGear player for the first time. Click on the View pull-down menu and select Refresh or press F5.
