Rated 5 out of 5 by dave0050 Easy to use
Easy to use and boots a flash drive pretty quick. Hard drives with a lot on them might take a minute or two to load, then it works great.

Rated 2 out of 5 by bobcatt its ok but def not the greatest!
it barely plays MP4 files at all. i managed to get 1 or 2 to work but those files were old and bad quality. so mp4 on this thing doesnt work 99.9 percent of the time!
if i play DVD,Vob,Mpeg files in the USB port i CANT get the screen to ratio at 16:9. its all stretched out and lame and yes i went into the settings but it doesnt change anything. if i play dvd files (DVD,Vob,Mpeg) on a disc THEN it shows it in widescreen 16:9
after 2 years it takes a long time to load discs. the USB part of this player works great for AVI still but for playing discs its very unreliable and not good.
i consider this more an AVI player cause its the only thing that works properly! and the lack of firmware updates (their havent been any) make this player stay kinda not so good.
4 out of 10 at best.
prob wont be buying another Philips player again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ascendant DOES NOT play *any* type of video, not even close!
Philips does not keep up with newer codecs. For those who are computer illiterate, what this means is that all the newer video formats are not supported by this DVD player. I'm not sure why it's still being sold since it is so outdated. Most video files you find on the net will not be playable on this player. To make matters worse, they don't make any effort to update their players (can be done with downloadable firmware upgrades).

Rated 3 out of 5 by angus Will not play MP4 files!
Generally good performance although slow to respond to the remote.
Marketing info and the owners manual say it will play MP4 files. This is not true!

Rated 4 out of 5 by DWTaylor Nice, stylish small unit
I play a DVD @ my place of biz at least 8 hrs, daily, to feed a display monitor in my entry foyer. I'd had another brand, for years, & it finally bit the dust. I ordered this in haste via Amazon & it seems to be exactly what I need & importantly, is quiet. I almost passed on this unit as several reviews advised it was "too noisy" for a office enviroment. Maybe I lucked-out & got one of the "quieter" units.

Rated 3 out of 5 by angus MP4 files not supported
This dvd player, DVP3680, generally performs well. The owners manual specs indicate it can play MP4 files. This is not true. Attempting to play an MP4 file results in a message on screen: "Video codec not supported." Otherwise a nice machine if a bit slow in response to commands. A firmware revision would probably correct the deficiency. This was an important consideration in the purchase but not worth the effort to return it since it otherwise works well.
