I have owned several Philips tooth brushes. None have lasted 3 years. Most only 2-2 1/2 years. Some were replaced by Philips warranty. Some I bought the replacement. I am really disappointed with the performance of these relatively expensive rechargeable toothbrushes.

This newer Sonicare model is lighter and more streamlined than the orginal models, which I really like, but I was disappointed with the performance. I switched to this product when my original design Sonicare battery started failing. I still have both and have compared brushing with one and the other and the difference is VERY noticeable. This newer model is more portable and great for trips and I like how it looks, but, despite having the exact same vibrations per second, it just does not leave my teeth feeling clean like the original models did. This is my third Sonicare brush and I wish I could go back to the original design. Sonicare made an enormous impact on the health of my gums and teeth. I have receding gums (genetic) and using Sonicare brushes for the past 15 years has prevented its progression. When I switch to a manual toothbrush for more than a couple of days I can immediately tell how much the Sonicare toothbrushes help. I'm just not satisfied with this particular model. It's easier to switch the heads and keep clean, but I care more about how it actually cleans my teeth. Until my old Sonicare fully dies I plan to use this newer one just for trips.

I have never been disappointed with any Sonicare product. I have used them for many, many years and I cannot be with our my Sonicare toothbrush!

I love the fresh after leaving the dentist feeling I get after using this brush. I have not had to pay for cavity filling since I started using it. It really pays for itself!

I switched to the Philips Sonicare electric toothbrush several years ago and would not have any other toothbrush. It was also recommended by my dentist and my entire family uses the Philips Sonicare.

I purchased two of these at Christmas 2014 for my husband and myself.
Both had to be replaced. They wouldn't charge at times and then, would start running at odd times during the night. We'd be sleeping and awakened by our toothbrush vibrating across the bathroom counter. Every time we turned it off and thought we were safe, it started up again. I tried to hide it in a drawer, didn't work, we could still hear it. Then put it in between towels in the linen closet, didn't work. We finally had to put it in the car, in the garage so we wouldn't be up all night.
They were both replaced for us.
A few months later mine started doing the same thing. I called customer service, and talk to a young man who said finally that they would exchange it one more time for us. He wanted me to send it back and I did send me postage free with the new brush that they sent. He told me that part of the problem might be that the handle gotten wet and suggested I Dry it each time I used it. I suggested that maybe there's design was wrong. I can't think of any toothbrush that doesn't get wet when you're using it.
I've been using my new one for about a month and my husband's replacement has been going for about 3 or 4 months.
If it happens again I will call them again even though they said they would not replace it.

We bought the pair with one charger via our dentist. Love the brush, but had to replace one of them twice under warrantee. One would definitely not vibrate as strongly as the other. You were very accommodating in trying to troubleshoot the problem, but both times the base had to be replaced. replacements arrived quickly both times.
