Rated 5 out of 5 by Hurricaine Much better than predecessor
After going two iPods, I decided to purchase an MP3 player which hopefully will not break down on me and is also within my budget.
This was a replacement from Philip. They were generous to send me an new updatedversion of the Philips GoGear MP3 16GB. The User Interface and screen, are much better than the original one I purchased from in early February 2011.
I really like the MicroSD card feature and the radio future. I wish this newer version included the HDMI output. Other than that, I would strongly recommend this product

I purchesed my Muse in March 2011 and no more than a week after i got it, it began to randomly shut off and come back on. By September 2011 It would overheat and freeze for hours. It now will only hold charge for no more than six hours. I also don't like how there is no option to make a playlist on the player. The sound quality, memory and picture quality are about the only features that I like about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Placy Great product, great features, but Songbird has issues.
I love my Phillips GoGear Muse and use it every day! I have had the issues with Songbird. I spent weeks downloading my CDs to my computer via Songbird and had to enter a lot of information manually to Songbird like disc number and track number and year the album or song came out, etc.. I have issues with some of the data which I feel should filter through all tracks and songs when it doesn't, but don't have a problem adding the additional and/or extra information. When Songbird updated from one version to the next I lost all the extra data! That was a good weeks worth of data entry! I have not added that extra data since and have had no success with Songbird's help or customer service online or by phone. I can't get straight answers and am worried that this will happen again and would really like to switch to Microsoft or another music/video/movie program that is more user friendly and reliable than Songbird. I can't find out if that is possible either. I am at a stand still right now because of Songbird. The Unit itself is wonderful and does everything I need and want it too and is very user friendly as well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Matthew4 It's worth checking out.
Overall I'm happy with this product. The music quality is excellent. I usually keep it on the FullSound setting, it sounds crisp and has good bass. The interface is pretty easy to navigate. I like that you can organize files in your own folders that you create. Videos on the widescreen look pretty good. In my experience HD videos perform better when they're converted down to a manageable 'mobile' size using Songbird or another video converter. I love that you can insert a microSD card. Plenty of space for videos and songs. Viewing pictures is simple and easy. FM radio quality is good. The microphone quality is fantastic for such a small device. I'm not too impressed with the text reader, since I thought it'd be good for reading books. You'll constantly be turning pages. Overall, I'm glad I bought this player. It's a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GFR814 The Go Gear MP3 has many great features.
As much as i love my Go Gear it has two short comings.
1. The manual is not very clear on how the features work. I needed to play around with some things or call the help line to figure them out.
2. The touch screen is a good way to operate it, but i wish there was a way to lock the screen. Often when listening to music and having it in a pocket, it will move a bit and the song will skip.
But i still feel that it was a correct choice.
