Rated 1 out of 5 by marcesq lousy product/lousy support
This is the second time I bought a Philips MP3. I threw the first out years ago. Noting has changed, Lousy design. Non existent instructions, Lousy support. A generic MP3 is cheaper and it works without impossible design.

Rated 1 out of 5 by RRDD This is set up for Euro restrictions!
I owned a Philips GoGear Vibe 8gb for a couple of years and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, I forgot it in my pocket and washed it with my laundry. So it is now a handy paper weight. I decided to stick with philips products since I was so impressed with the vibe so I purchased a GoGear Raga 4gb mp3 player. Except the audio is soooo low. I work in a very loud machine shop. There is no way this raga will suffice in that atmosphere. "All the portable entertainment player will have to fulfill the new A12 requirement for Europe. Long story short: this requirement is to protect your hearing. Not allowing you to listen to music > 80db without consent." I'm not in Europe!!! This is Merica!!!! I want my music and I want it loud!
Philips GoGear Raga 4gb mp3 player and I will be making a product return trip tomorrow. Sorry Philips... I'll take my money some where else.

I thought the raga had excellent sound system , the size was convenient and it worked efficiently, however it was hard to scroll and see with such a small screen. Otherwise great and recommended. I always enjoy philips music products an their sound system beats apple in bass(base not sure how to spell it) and quality

Rated 1 out of 5 by Stevo99 Sound is fine but too many annoyances
First off the sound for me is fine. I wanted to use it for podcasts and music when running and it's ok.
Button response is incredibly slow, with sometimes three seconds or more before a button actually responds. Navigating menus is painfully slow. Position in a podcast or album is lost whenever it is switched off and having to renavigate back to where I want with the slow response is frustrating.
Most annoy is that the unit keeps switching itself back on (even when just sitting on a desk) after I've switched it off causing the battery to run out numerous times.
I have had two Philips GoGEAR MP3 players prior to this latest version. I will not buy Philips MP3 again if this is their quality level now.
