Rated 3 out of 5 by Woo52 Great out the gate!!!
Great sound, easy to use, easy to recharge. Within 1 month of the warranty being expired it just quit working. Performed all the instructions Philips asked me to perform but player would not play. I threw the product away and I use my phone to play music on my walks. I would rather have my MP3 player because lighter weight and uses far less energy than my phone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JustieLou Overly complicated use
It must have been a mistake to buy this after using a much simpler, more minimalist player for years. I got seduced by the promise of short charging time and easy use, and I must say, it does indeed take ridiculously short to charge it which is great. However, there are problems with that second thing - like, why is it not possible to set a higher safe sound threshold?? I find it extremely annoying, that little warning every time, "You know what, it's not safe to listen to loud music, just sayin'!" It's like an mp3 player with a tiny mom inside. Uploaded artists lose names and albums become *Unknown* for some weird reason, and certain songs, even in an mp3 format, are not displayed. Another weird thing is that the volume control is not locked with the rest of the buttons, so I have found myself in countless situations where a perfectly locked player would suddenly lose sound because I'd have put it in my pocked and the volume buttons would be pressed by something else there. Finally, it keeps happening - when I connect the player to my laptop, it keeps freezing, even after safely removing it. The problem is normally gone after multiple times of plugging in and out which is, you know, not exactly the most exciting thing to waste time on.
I have, however, suddenly found new respect to this player after it survived an angry military boot attack and resurrected to life in seconds, as if nothing had happened. All of the problems were back in no time, too.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Metalchick36 not the same as the old GoGear model
I bought this to replace the old GoGear model and was expecting this model to be just like the old one. But it is not and I am disappointed with it that I want to go back to using the old model. It does have excellent volume, easy to upload songs, the charging time is short, and there's still room for new songs because of the increased memory size. Unfortunately it takes too long to turn on as I always have an update screen, even when I haven't added or subtracted songs. I got no manual in the packaging so I had to go online to find one. Setting up radio stations was very difficult, even with the manual, sometimes songs will not play and say file format is not supported, even if it had played just fine beforehand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JPR56 I LOVE this product
I bought this over a year ago. The sound on songs is excellent, and the battery life is really long. My only complaint is that the fm tuner could get better reception. Overall this is a great product.

This is a really nice product! Navigation is intuitive and easy to figure out. Audio files play well and load up at an acceptable speed. Overall really happy with the purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by TheDude Very slow software
Product seems fine with sound and battery life, but you will spend 30% of the battery life waiting between songs when it takes from 3-5 secs to change track. only tested with MP3 files.

Rated 3 out of 5 by houstonhint its alright when you get it turned on
Figuring out how to turn the thing off and on is the only thing that I don't like about this player. But when you do get it turned on it sounds real good.
