First, I must tell you I received a free pump in exchange for my honest review. This pump is pretty similar to the other Philips Avent pump I have used. A nice thing about this pump is that you don`t have to lean forward to use it so it can be a bit more comfortable (comfort is key to pumping!). I have a strong letdown and for others like me, if you are using a single you may want to have an extra bottle/cup to catch milk from the other side while you pump.
I am honestly not a huge fan of pumping in general (I AM a fan of breastmilk but typically find pumping to be less comfortable and more work than breastfeeding) so a few tips for those who are new to pumping and think this pump (or any pump) is not working for them: Comfort is important. If you are stressed or scared of using the pump, do your best to calm down. I know it sounds silly but dim the lights, play relaxing music, breathe deeply, and think warm thoughts about your baby. If you are using a single and have the ability to, try pumping on one side while feeding your baby on the other. I found it helped me get used to pumping and I generally was able to get more milk this way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MelissaR Small pump with big results
I received this pump as a sample in exchange for my honest review. I have only ever used a hand pump as I don't pump very often. This pump is excellent. It is easy to use and comfortable too. I like the compact design and that there aren't a ton of parts to maintain. It does a great job and I like that the amount of suction can be controlled to your comfort level. And there are no tubes to wash or boil. It's a great pump for someone that mostly breastfeeds but needs the occasional bottle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ChantaM easy to use
I received this item for free in exchange for my review. This was one of the on the easiest pumps I have ever used. The system worked well with the storage cups. This electric pump did its job on a breast at a time and I achieved great amounts of milk from both breasts. It was comfortable and fit and it actually worked. I had not worries while using this pump.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ValerieD Good if you want a single pump
The person who wrote this review received a free sample for providing an open and honest review of the product.
I have used 3 pumps previously - 2 different brands of double pumps and a manual, single pump. Compared to those, the suction works well (better than a manual pump) and its great not to need to lean forward but I prefer a double pump to save time. Also, the cushion was soft but I found unnecessary and a bit bulky (and another piece to clean).
Additionally, I was disappointed to see that not all of the pieces were sealed in plastic but rather were loose in the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ValanitaM Great pump!
I received a free sample of this single electric breast pump to review and I must say it is a great product! It is very comfortable and effective for pumping. It feels different than other pumps in that it's slightly more comfortable. The pump is user friendly and compact enough for travel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TeresaS An ok pump, just can't get as many ounces
I received this product in exchange for a review. This pump is nice - it is actually pretty quiet, pretty easy to use. The pump parts are easier to clean than other brands I have tried, which is a major plus! Not to mention, it is much more comfortable, since I don't have hard plastic on my breast. I also really like the multiple adjustable pumping speeds/let down function. Some brands don't even have this, or there is just one different speed. The only downside for me is that I am not able to pump as much milk as I can with my other brand of pump, which I guess is kind of a big deal for me. A good product overall though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by RachelS Good at home pump
I received this breast pump in exchange for this review. I have used another pump since my son was born, but this one is a great one for home vs at work. I am able to pump at the same time that I am nursing so I don`t feel like it takes extra time out of my day. It is also really nice and compact for easy storage. The angle of the flange is really easy on my nipple. Only problem is it is VERY loud.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Marissa01 Gentle pump
I was given the Philips avent comfort single electric breast pump in exchange for this review. I am a stay at home mom who has a very part time job (5-10hours/week). I usually just breastfeed since I am home but I do pump first thing each morning on one breast while I am feeding my son on the other breast. I use that milk to give to him at daycare while I am at work. So a single electric breast pump is perfect for someone like me since I don`t need it for both breasts at a time. I do however wish it were a double when I am on break at work. It takes twice as long and when I am trying to squeeze a pumping session in quickly and it would be nice to have a double. If you are a working mom and plan to pump at work I would not get a single pump. If you are at home and just using it to empty the other breast while your little one is on the opposite side then a single is perfect for you.
Likes: Easy set up. I love how compact it is which has made it easy to take with me when I need to be away. I like the sleek modern design and the style of the bottles.
Dislikes: Before I was sent this product to review I was using my own double electric pump. I noticed that this Philips single electric breast pump did not have as much suction resulting in less milk collected than on my other model. It was more gentle which would be nice for someone who finds breastfeeding/pumping painful.... I however do not have these issues and wanted to have more suction from the pump.
Overall this is a great product for someone who only needs to pump one breast at a time and needs a more gentle suction. If you fit this criteria, get this pump. But for me I prefer a double pump with higher suction so I can extract more milk and have the option of doing one or both breasts at the same time.
