Ten years old, and still better than the "Lightpak" or any other LED strips
I don't know why it took me so long to find out about this product, but I discovered it while reading a comedic review on Seanbaby's site in September 2016. I immediately said, "I've got to have one!" So I bought a brand new Starter and Expansion kit a few days later. I must admit, I couldn't have been happier. Even though there are only a handful of games that are "fully amBX compatible," they increase the immersion exponentially.
Sadly, there was a power outage in the neighborhood about three weeks later than oddly killed my wallwasher, making the system useless (while harming nothing else in the house).
So to replace it I bought three LED strips for my PC. They are similar as they screen grab and adjust light accordingly, but the vanilla software is worthless and the things are nowhere near as immersive (lights alone) as even the amBX lighting system was. Not to mention those things want to fail out often, with the software not recognizing them until a restart or two.
Now amBX is tough to get running on a modern, 64bit system, but it's so worth the trouble.
I really wish these were not discontinued. :-(
Now I've just bought a brand new Premium kit, which will be delivered today. I can't wait to hook it up again.
Hello again amBX and goodbye LED strips, it's great to have you back!

incredible piece of kit
Although is been discontinued which is a shame, I managed to get my hands in a full kit. And while is difficult to setup in pot wind 7 era the efforts are well worthed. NOt fully compatible with all the games is still pretty immersive with stunning result.
