Rated 3 out of 5 by seyetha Great while they lasted
Not being much of an audiophile, the only thing I can tell you about the sound quality is that I enjoy it-- these headphones have been a sort of gateway drug into nicer audio equipment for me. Unfortunately, I have found the on-ear style to be very uncomfortable after an hour or so of wearing. These headphones compress my ears to my head, so I cannot wear them for extended periods of time as I would like to. However, the biggest problem I've had with these headphones is durability. I bought them in summer 2012, and by summer 2014 the covering on the ear cushions had almost entirely peeled off. Worst of all, a wire came loose inside and now the right side only intermittently produces sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LynxWarrior Good Out of the Box -- Becomes Better Over Time
I have used this model headphone on daily basis since I purchased in Dec 2013; it is presently July 2014 and the Citiscape Downtowns have lived up their advertised promises: Excellent Sound and Superior Sound Isolation.
The Sound was Clear out of the box but I thought the Bass was slightly less than expected but this changed within a few days of use. I noticed the Bass response became deeper and louder yet well balanced with the Treble and Mid-Range. As time passed I found these phones are as good with Bass Heavy Dub-Step and EDM music as it Acoustic, Classical and Rock--even Metal. I discovered that even if heard/compared back to back with a known bass tuned headphone the Downtowns DO NOT come across as weak or lacking once they have "Burned In".
I put these one and the World goes away. I am thorougly enjoying the Sound and would buy again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jacques66 I believe my money was well spent.
The reason for giving a rating of good "overall" is that based on the purchase price I feel this product gave me more than I expected relative to performance.
