Great monitor until it broke
This monitor was absolutely great until it broke. We originally bought another brand, but returned it almost immediately because there was so much static. We are light sleepers and even though reviews on the other said that it was quiet, we could not sleep at all with it. I only tell you this because I think it is important that you realize that we did our research and for light sleepers, this really is a great monitor. We bought this one next and there is virtually no static. It can catch all noise your baby makes if you have the sensitivity up high or just the important noises (not all the little grunts and movement) if you set it lower -- this is our preference. I love the design and the battery lasts a long time so you can take it around during the day and only need to leave it charged at night. I would have given this 5 stars if I rated it a while ago. However, it broke. We have had the monitor for about 16 months. Suddenly it lost it's connection and doesn't pick up any noise at all - whether plugged in or not. The most frustrating thing is that the lights indicate that it is working so you think it is, but it's not, so you don't know if your child is crying or not! We would turn it off (both the receiver and the base) and the "reboot" them and it would work for a while but this started happening more and more. Now it usually won't connect and only occasionally will. I'm really sad because I love the monitor but I won't buy it again and I won't recommend it to others because you expect a baby monitor to last at least a few years while your child is still young and you need one. It is not a product that I planned on purchasing multiples of so I'm sorely disappointed. I have to purchase a new monitor this week.

The sound and noise suppression on this product is second to none.
We have 5 of these units which we use for elderly care in our home and grand-baby visits. We tried a couple of other products which had noise suppression issues. We got our first 2 about 5 years ago and really like them for their compact design, reception distance and sound. They really solved the noise issue. Set at full volume and it has no noise (electro-static). That is huge when sleeping at night. It's nice when you can use them as a intercom as well.
The only issue we had was after a year or two they loose there receptivity and it is hit and miss on the reception with constant alarm beeps when it would loose it's connectivity. We finally called tech support and found out they had to be reset. They walked us through the resetting steps, which is not a big deal, and they are like new again. We gave the "ease of use" a 4 star for that reason. For the price range they are tops as far as we are concerned.

We use this monitor 24/7. A tool we would find hard to do without...
The four stars is due to the first monitor set developing an issue of
loosing it's connection three to four times a day/night after eight
months of use. This caused the parent receiver to emit a triple beep
every several seconds until it reconnected with the baby unit. We
exchanged that set for identical hardware and operation has been
flawless for the last two months. The units have a continuous digital
connection. This allows automatic monitoring of the link and
bi-directional communication. That will come in handy when our
seven month old starts talking...

Simple Setup! Very clear signal
Unfortunately we had to return the first one we had after approximately one year but it was under warranty. Philips was very, very helpful during this process. One friendly call and a few minutes later we had a replacement on the way. All we had to do was send the old one back. The issue was with the parent unit. It would not turn on, even with a new battery. Register your product, they knew all our info once we gave them our name.
Other than that, the signal is so clear and the range is excellant. We can hear everything but one of the best features are the blue indicator lights. Depending on the sesitivity setting, you can "see" the sound your baby makes even if you don't hear it.
Very simple design, rechargable parent unit is a great idea but we found that the replacement batteries are hard to find. Philips does carry them.

Excellent product
The product is excellent and works as designed. Range and clarity is a huge plus on this particular unit. The only minor drawback is the battery life and sometimes having the need to re-charge the unit at inopportune moments. However, that is easily overlooked by product's strengths.
Philips support for this product is unparalleled. After 2 years of usage, we had problems with the unit sync'ing up - without any questions, a new unit was shipped to our door for swap. Great customer service!!

Excellent product
We had this product for several month when it stopped working and when we called Philips to replace it they were extremely helpful. The product is excellent, with zero noise interference and crystal clear reception. I would recommend it!

Simple to use, great range, and battery life
works great. had a small problem with it that customer service took care of right away. i can work in the garden while baby is sleeping and it still receives the signal. also like the silent mode, with the lights flashing only. good for when you have white noise in background in your baby's room but want to preserve battery life on unit.
