Defective??
I bought the cup, no liquid would come out. Exchanged it, got a second one ... No liquid came out. I sucked on it myself and there was clearly no hole or slit. I'm thinking mine were defective but to get 2 in a row seems odd?
I'll go with another brand going forward.

Great sippy
We used Avent products with our oldest and now 3 1/2 years later we are using the newer design for our little guy. The design we have has the handles that are attached to the top. My son(as well as his older borther when he used them) hates the handles. He won't hold the sippy cup if the handles are there. We found on set that the handles are detachable(looks like an older model) but have yet to find them again! Other than that we have no problems with leaking, unless it is completely upside down, which happens on occasion, but all the sippys we ever tried did that! I love that all the parts are interchangeable!! I would and do reccomend Avent products in general!

Great for bottle to sippy transition!
My daughter (14 month old) LOVES this sippy. It is not designed to be an "on the go" sippy, because if it is thrown on the spout is squished it will leak, but I don't think drinks should be anywhere without supervision anyway. It was an easy transition from a bottle and I love that the spout has an attached cover. The cover always seems to snap shut when dropped which is terrific to keep it clean. Highly recommended. :)

Leaks!
I bought 2 different cups and both of them leak from the same spot. Both of them are not usable.

Love as a starter cup!
This cup is wonderful! My son drinks from the cup with ease and doesn't complain like he does with other dippy cups. I recommend to all moms! You can find them at Babies R Us.

Love this trainer bottle!
This is the only trainer sippy cup my son will use...only complaint is only bought one wasn't sure if he would like it now having SO MUCH TROUBLE trying to find it again :(
