The cup leaks from the first use
I purchased a two pack of these cups for my 1 year old. Whenever she drinks from the cup liquid spouts out of the tiny hole opposite the spout on the top of the cup, which I assume is for air flow. This occurred with both cups. It does not leak if turned upside down but when the filled with pressure from the suction on the spout the liquid freely flows from the small hole. I've ensured the valve is correctly in place and have twisted the valve clockwise as instructed in the FAQ's for this issue. I'm disappointed.

Great cup but leak Issues
This is one of many Avent cups I have purchased for my kids over the past 6 years. I'm now on my third baby and just purchased new ones. One thing to note (and possibly the reason for mixed reviews) is that there are two different spouts for this - the green hard spout and soft (clear) silicone spout. I purchased mine with the green hard spout and had the same issues as many others where liquids just flow from what should be the air vent.
After about three weeks I called customer service because I know cups like this have worked in the past and assumed there was an issue. They were kind enough to ship me new spouts - but the soft silicone kind. My smaller cups (5oz) use that spout and work perfectly.
I'm giving this three stars because the cup itself is nice. I love that you can remove the handles if you want and that you can remove the cover (mine is not the flip cover like the newer models). The leaking is an issue though, and not good for a sippy cup to leak this much. I don't mind the amount of parts (there are 6: cup, handle, lid, spout, silicone spout cover, cover) because it makes them easier to wash and more customization to grow with your child.
I certainly would not purchase this exact model again, but love Avent cups and their customer service was outstanding when I called.

We Love This Product!
I have been trying to get my son to take a sippy cup for 3 months now. I had went out and bought just about every single sippy cup out there but he wanted nothing to do with them. Then I found out Avent made sippy cups as well as bottles. I went out the next day and bought one, gave it to him to try and now I can't get it away from him. He loves this cup and now wants nothing to do with the Avent bottle we love so much. He wants all his drinks in THIS cup. the handles are not too big for his hands and the cup allows the drink to flow freely when drinking from it, yet not spilling or leaking every where when its not in use. I've had to removed the flip cap off the cups while he uses it (he plays with the cap if I leave it on). Other then wishing this cup came with a removable cap like the bottles so it does not feel like I am breaking it when I remove the flip cap, it is still a wonderful product. This is the BEST sippy cup I've bought hands down!

Leaks all over the place!!!
I purchased these because I had a similar one with my last child and it was great. They have changed something because these leak really bad. I called customer service and they knew exactly what the problem was and why it did it. They offered to send me replacements but that it would have the same problem. She said they are spill proof, not leak proof (what's the difference when it comes to a sippy cup?).

Love this cup
I dont understand why people are having so many issues with this cup leaking. My daughter has been using it for a couple of months and it has NEVER leaked. The first cup she had was a 5 yr old avent cup my sister gave us (it was my nieces. My sister keeps everything). It was great so I went on the hunt for more. This is the only sippy cup we use. I gave it 5 stars for performance because it has worked great for us. My daughter loves it and it doesn't leak. I gave it 3 stars for ease of use because it does have a lot of parts. The small parts can be easy to lose when disassembling for washing. But I love that they do come apart because you can make sure you get everything clean and there is no hidden gunk in the crevices. I gave it 5 stars for design because I love that the lids are interchangeable so I do not have to buy all new cups when transitioning from bottle to cup. I am keeping these cups to use as bottles for my next child.

Nothing comes out...
I'm a first time mom and cannot figured out how to work this cup. I put water into it and all that comes out is air. The clear valve cover under the spout seems to be the issue but I though it's supossed to be on there.

What leak?
Maybe we missed the boat, but we've been using these for several months and haven't had a single leak. I'd recommend making sure the 'nipple' part (the clear, silicon piece) is securely seated.

I love avent products, but my replacement also leaks
When I called the first time for my replacement of the old model cups, the representative was very cordial and my replacements came right away. However the new model leaks just as bad.
