Horrible product
I got this item as a gift and I had to call them and say it didn't work right. I took it back to the store once because the button to close it wouldn't work. It also froze on me and decided it wouldn't turn on. It's a good thing I didn't have any discs in it. It was also very slow to load anything.
When we replaced it with the same product, it worked fine the first few days. It was a tad bit faster, but started giving problems within the next few weeks. It froze and I had to unplug it to get it to work. The other day, it wouldn't turn on at all. Now, we tried to get it to work with our surround sound unit, and the surround sound will work with all of the other languages BUT English.
This is a TERRIBLE Blu-ray player and Philips should be ashamed of themselves for selling it. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Works ok for the money
Get what you pay for I suppose. If you have a cable provider remote, it likely does not have codes that support this unit, so I am hugely disappointed in that. The fact that wireless networking requires an adapter is also a cheap "suprise". Works ok though, so far. I've only used it for one day. GET A WARRANTY (Extended) !

This product is not worth the money!
I was very disappointed in this product once I got it home. The box is very deceiving and tells you nothing about purchasing all of the pieces seperately; and might I add the extras end up being pretty pricey. Then when I went to the website for help and contacted the company they have false pricing listed and do nothing to compensate you for it! I was pretty upset with this product and will never be purchasing again from Philips!

Simply does not function. - Not the only ones to have this fail either!
This unit is horrible. The remote rarely if ever works. The player hangs/stalls and can only be reset by unplugging it. The power button and tray button rarely if ever do anything.
Simply the worst performing DVD player I have ever owned.

smoke and mirrors
bought this for netflix, and guess what? Can only use WIFI with an adapter (sold seperately) but you cant find it on the website that the instructions say to go to. The only benefit to this unit is that it was sold at a BIGBOX store 2 miles from home with a nice return counter. waste of effort.

EXCELLENT
This is my first blu-ray player and I trust Philips brand in video.

Don't do it.
I bought this player for my son. I wasn't really worried about having it wifi enabled, but it is a little annoying that I can't find the adapter to make it wifi ready. The remote doesn't like to work. I've put new batteries in it, but that didn't help. It works intermittently. It is not compatible with my UVerse remote, so I can't even not use the original. The door doesn't like to open. And it doesn't like to shut. The power button must be pressed several times, even when I wait several seconds inbetween. When you get it to work, it works great, but more often than not, my son and I both get too frustrated and give up. I'd take it back if I could find the reciept. :(

Works Just Fine For Me
I got this Blu Ray player over the holidays and was able to get it set up with relative ease (The hardest part being trying to find the HDMI port on my TV). I expected having to purchase an HDMI cord, as they're a little more pricey than the normal AV (Red Yellow White) cords. I wasn't overly concerned with the WiFi requiring an adapter as I don't really use Netflix. The one negative that I have found is that sometimes the drawer doesn't eject after pressing the button even several times and for that I have taken 2 stars from "Performance". Overall I would give it about a 4.5/5. It plays all of my DVDs and Blu Ray diskss without issue and aside from the drawer ejection issue, I've had no other problems. The overall average rating doesn't give this player justice. Understand that you will need to get an HDMI cord and WiFi Adapter (If you choose to utilize that aspect of it) in order to use it. Realize that it isnt the top end of devices and you wont be disappointed with it at all.
