Like for like performance with an incandescent lamp
I find this lamp to be the best low energy substitute for an incandescent bulb. Color temperature is very close and brightness is truly equivalent to a 60-75 watt incandescent. Two cons: one is that it does have a low level buzz more pronounced when dimmed but also at full brightness, second is that it is pricey. Very good product!

Didn't Last
The color of the light is pleasant, but 1 of 4 bulbs purchased has only lasted for 7 months, which is a long way from the "at least 22.8 years" described in the product info. According to the product information the 22.8 years is based on 3 hours per day, 7 days per week, which means 24897.6 hours.
Even if I left the light on 24 hours per day for the 7 months (which I did not), that is less than 5500 hours.
Even if the other 3 last longer, at these prices, quality control should be much better.

Stopped Functioning after a few months
I purchased this bulb a few months back and installed it into a normal 3-socket light fixture, replacing a normal working Incandescent bulb. I noticed the light was no longer working a week ago. I proceeded to test the bulb in various ways, to verify the malfunction.
Here are my tests cases:
- I tried tightening the bulb in the socket to ensure a solid connection. The bulb was firmly in the socket, but not over-tight.
- I tried placing a known working bulb into the same socket, and that bulb worked fine.
- I tried placing the Phillips bulb into another known-working socket, but the bulb failed to light.
Observations:
- Even though the bulb was not producing any light, the bulb was extremely hot when removing it from the socket - even after 10min after turning the lights off to let it cool.
This was an extremely expensive light bulb and I had hoped that it would last closer in-line with what was advertised, and not just a few months. Very disappointed.

Better than CFL
Works perfectly, subjectively better quality of light than CFL

didn't last long
I've owned this bulb for <6 months and now it doesn't work. It will light, but then after about 10-15 minutes it will start to flicker, then will turn off. It comes back on intermittently.
This was an expensive bulb, that didn't last as long as a cheap incandescent.
I now have to find out if I can get a replacement - maybe this was an anomaly.

Beautiful hue but hums
I absolutey love this LED bulb. It feels exactly like an incandescent. The bulb design is odd, but I like that about it. I have no problem with the slight delay in turning on... no skin off my back. The only thing is I wish the engineers can resolve the faint hum. I find it distracting at times and won't put it in my home office.
I refuse to use CFLs because of the mercury and the sterile white color. And I am happily observing the LED market mature.

It does hum.
This is definitely a break-through device. The light coming out is nice warm color, the split second delay in turning on is tolerable, once used to it. It works with a dimmer, though it does not start from "dim." It clearly needs some voltage to activate and then, the device already emits light.
The shape of the head is interesting and although it may not be the best for some fixtures, an architect or designer could design a fixture right for this device.
Since I do research in energy, it was imperative I try this device myself and from that point of view I am not disappointed. However, now for the disappointment. The device DOES emit some hum, albeit not very distinct. It would not be heard over music, and it probably as a single bulb would not be heard from a ceiling fixture. However, in a quiet room as a task light it is a problem for me.

Great, but....
Works great as a 60 watt replacement, but most of the lights in my home are 75 watt or more. I'll do a whole home upgrade when the product is upgraded.
