Brighter than 40W, almost as bright as 60W incandescents! Excellent light quality and extremely efficient, great for frequently used lights. 13 May 2012

Failed after 11 months used as night light in kitchen stove hood so it was on most of the time but with a quoted 25000 hr life should be good for nearly 3 yrs even if left on 24/7. Phillips cheerfully refunded money, will try another one. 20 March 2012
