A Fantastic Low Energy Use Replacement for Halogen
I have trusted Philips products for years, so it was the natural choice when I decided to purchase a variety of LED lights.
This bulb replaces an earlier generation that were non-dimmable, and lower lumens. The ability to dim these is an excellent addition to an already fantastic bulb. The light quality is warm and crisp. Great to read by, and excellent for lighting artwork as there is no UV. Whatever complaints you ever had about low-quality LED lighting will vanish when you own these high-quality LED lights.
The color is warm, not as orange as Halogen lighting, but that is actually a good thing. For many uses, halogen is too orange but people have grown use to the look without really thinking about it. These LEDs present none of the bluish "gray-light" effect that flourescent, and low-quality LED lights present. The light emitted from these LED bulbs is much farther from the blue end of the spectrum. When glancing at the bulb the slightest hint of pink can be perceived, but do not worry, the light from these is not pink.
Additionally, I was surprisingly pleased at HOW these bulbs dim. From my experience, it seems much lower dimming is achievable if desired. You have probably guessed by now that I am REALLY happy with these bulbs!
