Tried competitor - came back to Norelco
Still getting a little razor burn at base of neck, depends on how you orientate the razor and pressure used. Overall, a superior shave.

Nice shaver
Have used rotary shavers for over 40 years. Good to not have the cord tied to the wall. Not sure about shaving in the shower though, just doesn't seem right. Although this one would let you do it I guess.
Cleaning is easy, first shaver that likes water for me, so it's a snap. Pop it open run it under the tap.
Battery lasts a long time but I definitely get a better shave after the battery is charged. Which should not be suprising, full charge , faster blade rotation equals better shave.

Exceeded expectations
After using a foil shaver for 23 years, I decided to try a rotary shaver. After a lot of research, this shaver seemed like the best bang for the buck. I was apprehensive about using a rotary shaver, but after using the AT830, I must say that i am highly impressed. Not only do I get a closer shave, but it also does not leave my skin dry and irritated like the foil shaver does. I have only used this shaver with shaving gel so far, and it provides a very comfortable shave. The shaver seems to glide right over the skin, while giving an extremely close and smooth shave. It is very comfortable to hold, and cleaning is as easy as flipping the shaver head open and rinsing under warm water. The pop up trimmer is decent. Battery life so far has been great, actually more than advertised. Would definitely consider another norelco shaver in the future.

TERRIBLE
THIS IS PERHAPS THE WORST SHAVER I HAVE EVER OWNED. ALL IT DOES IS PINCH THE HAIR NO MATTER WHAT I DO

This razor lasted about 3 weeks and then became veryi dull.
This is the second razor from phillips. The first one lasted about 4 months b4 I had to replace the blades. This one about 3 weeks and the blades were starting to dull.
I will not buyi a phillips razor again !!!
