Philips Comments on PCORI Standards for Patient-Centered Research

Philips has submitted its views on research strategies and standards to the new Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) that was created under the Affordable Care Act. Under the law, the group is to conduct research that compares the clinical effectiveness of medical treatments, particularly taking into account the patient’s perspective. In May 2012, PCORI released is final research priorities and agenda.


The Philips comments were made in response to a draft report by the group’s methodology committee which proposed standards to guide patient-centered outcomes research.
