CT Lung Cancer Screening Recommended for Heavy Smokers

New guidelines recommend low-dose CT lung cancer screening for individuals age 55-74who have smoked a pack a day for 30 years, or the equivalent. The recommendations were made by the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Society of Clinical Oncology in a May 20, 2012, online article in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
