This toothbrush is a huge upgrade from my prior electric brush. The amount of power, the strength options and the way it cleans is far superior to my prior Sonicare model. because of the design and options it has much more power also because of the design it will also stay much cleaner than my old one. This brush has no cavity to collect dirt and gunk and therefore should continue to brush at full power without being impeded by buildup. I don`t find the bluetooth connected app very worthwhile personally, however I believe that others that are interested in tracking their brushing would find it quite useful. It tracks how much time you spend in each part of your mouth and how much life is left on your brush head how much life is left in your battery all very useful things if you are interested to collect that data. I do need to mention I was sent this brush as a free sample. However I would buy it given how well it performs, although I would be just as happy with the brush itself and may not spring for the bluetooth connected version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TomB82 Best Toothbrush Ever!
I will get right to the point in my review. Best toothbrush ever! While I will admit I haven't tried every toothbrush that has ever been produced, I can say that out of all of the electric toothbrushes I've tried in my days the Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Connected is my favorite. I received a free sample of this toothbrush to review but in no way did that affect my opinion of it. This toothbrush raises the bar with its many unique features that make brushing your teeth fun. To start, the toothbrush does an excellent job at cleaning your teeth and making them feel clean, even without all the added bells and whistles. I get the clean & polished feeling just like when I visit the dentist. My favorite feature is its built-in timer that vibrates the brush every 20 seconds so you know when to switch to a different set of teeth. It's easy to not brush long enough in a certain spot and having a physical reminder to switch is great. Its companion smartphone app that connects to the toothbrush via Bluetooth is really where the fun is at. When connected, the app shows an image of your teeth along with a timer that helps you see how well you are brushing certain areas, and for how long. I think the Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Connected toothbrush hits the nail on the head with the app because so many things we do each day are tied into our smartphones and having an app to make brushing more enjoyable just makes sense. The product exceeds all of my expectations I had for it. It was extremely easy to charge and setup/pair with the app. I can't think of anything I would change about it at this point and I would definitely recommend this to anyone as a toothbrush to buy.

I have been a loyal Sonicare user since the 90's when I received my first one (that still works) for Christmas. Phillips sent me the new Flexcare Platinum Connected to try out. All I can say is WOW!!! It truly feels like you are getting a dentist cleaning each time you brush and the app let me know I wasn't cleaning my back teeth as well as I should. This is by far one of the best products I've ever used!

Philips Sonicare Flexcare Platinum Connected.
So I tried out this toothbrush, not sure what to expect. I have used electric toothbrushes in the past, and wasn't sure what the "connected" aspect was going to bring to enhance the experience. Let me say I was pleasantly surprised. This toothbrush has the same great brushing experience I have come to expect from a Sonicare toothbrush, but has improved on this experience with the use of the app. First time downloading the app and getting it all set up was a little of a hassle. Requires you to sign in with an account etc. Pairing the toothbrush with your smart phone is pretty simple. Once this is completed, you start brushing, and the app has a timer that counts down your 2 mins of brushing time. BUT, the app also has a map of your mouth, and splits your mouth up into sections. The App lets you know when your time is up in 1 section, and where to move to next. Pretty Helpful to make sure you are spending equal time in all areas. Also, while brushing, the app is giving you feedback. "Too much Motion", or "Too Much Pressure" where the ones I kept getting. A little surprising, I guess I use too much pressure when brushing. Who knew. After your 2 mins of brushing is completed, it give a little summary of areas to focus on next time, and areas you exerted too much pressure. Overall I am happy with my first couple of uses of this brush, and will be interested to see if this helps my to brush my wisdom teeth more often, and area my dentist has mentioned to me in the past as a part I seem to overlook. The pressure sensor, and Brush pacer (and the app) are the 2 items I see as different from my previous model.
I received a free sample of this product to review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MarcT Only toothbrush and dental health app you will need
I received a free sample of the Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Connected to review. Overall I thought the toothbrush handle was excellent and clear upgrade from my previous Sonicare. However, I was underwhelmed by my perception of the accuracy of the connected app cleaning feature. Therefore, my overall rating is a Good.
Pros: Great handle, great brush heads, easy to connect with app, auto pressure sensor, different cleaning modes, nice travel case, long lasting battery when fully charged, plenty of integrated features in app (for brushing, tracking goals, progress, tools, etc.)
Cons: It was questionable to be how the accurate the app detailed my coverage area, there was no UV cleaning connected to base, I didn`t use many app features
This product is definitely superior to my last SonicCare. There are numerous features that can help aid your progress in various areas such as overall tracking, plaque removal, gum health and whitening. It is work stating that my teeth are already in very good condition and I do not have any issues with gum, plaque, etc. As a result, most of these features were underutilized by me. However, there is plenty to explore and integrate with the app for any type of user that is looking for a personal dental `hub` of info and progress.
I would recommended this product to anyone concerned with improving for maintaining their dental health!

Rated 4 out of 5 by ChrisCK Overall pretty good
I had been looking to replace my existing electric toothbrush and was given this one to try for free. Overall, I am satisfied with the toothbrush. It's overall solid, gets the job done, but, in the end, could use some improvement to be a truly great product. Upon receipt, there no assembly. Just plug it in, charge it and then put it to use. I was really impressed how much smaller the base was, especially when compared to my other electric toothbrush. To me, that's it's standout attribute. I live in an city apartment so when they can make the things I need take up less space, I'm happy. The biggest thing I didn't like is probably the feature that they highlight the most on the box. It's bluetooth enabled and comes with an app. So, it's a smart electric toothbrush...kinda. Ideally, I could download the app and my toothbrush would automatically sync with my phone over time. In reality, I'd have to bring my phone into the bathroom and manually sync it. I never bring my phone when I brush my teeth. So, I found myself using the app less frequently than I should. The app provides you with visual feedback on your brushing habits and goals to try to meet. It wants me to be a good brusher. If I had children, maybe this would be a good item to have. The adult in me just felt that I was being shamed into brushing my teeth better. But in the end, the app doesn't matter if the toothbrush isn't any good. It's a good toothbrush and maybe they update the app to make it more robust and user friendly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ButchTCougar Fantastic toothbrush, but the bells and whistles are a bit unnecessary.
I received this `Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Connected Powered Toothbrush` for free in return for my review, but do not think one bit that it had any effect on my thoughts and/or opinions. This review will be complete unbiased. My overall opinion is basically, `Eh.` There are many unique traits to this toothbrush, but really when it is 11:30pm, I`m tired, and just want to crawl into bed, the last thing I`m thinking about when brushing my teeth is how many features my toothbrush has. I have had two different electronic toothbrushes in the past including an earlier Sonicare version. While I definitely prefer this Sonicare toothbrush over other bradns, I don`t really find it much better than my old Sonicare.
- Great battery life. I`ve been using it for several weeks and it`s still running strong on the first charge.
- Pressure sensor. The toothbrush will vibrate slightly if it senses you are pressing too hard with it. This is nice for me because my dentists are constantly telling me I am applying too much pressure when I brush.
- Brush head variations. There are specific brush heads that are designed for whitening, massaging the gums, and general brushing. Bonus, they fit the older brush base versions as well!
- 3 different modes. While 95% of the time I use the generally cleaning mode, I enjoy doing the massage every once in a while on my gums. The start to tingle and it just makes me feel that much cleaner.
- Hard plastic travel case. Clean and clear case that will prevent your brush heads from getting crushed in your duffel like with the soft cloth cases.
Cons (no cons really but just some feature that don`t really cut it for me):
- Mobile app. This is the big selling point of the toothbrush. It connects via Bluetooth to a free mobile app you download on your smartphone. The deal is that before you start brushing you start up the app and it tracks your progress around your mouth. The teeth on the screen turn from yellow to white so that you can make sure you have spent enough time on each section. The downside is that you have you have the app open before you start brushing and keep near your phone the whole time. Personally all I want to do is brush my teeth and go to bed. I have struggled to remember to open my app before I start brushing.
- Timing notifications. The toothbrush will vibrate at 20 second intervals to help keep you on pace separating your mouth into 6 different zone. Bottom left, bottom front, bottom right, top left, top front, top right. When watching the teeth on the app to make sure I get them to turn white, it doesn’t seem like 20 seconds per section is really enough time. I end up having to go another minute at least almost every time, which really isn’t the worst thing for anyone’s teeth to be honest.
- Quality Control. When I first unwrapped my toothbrush there were two bristles that were only partway stuck into the head and were running off to the side. I plucked them out easy enough, but for how much the toothbrush costs, I would expect all the bristle to be done right.
Overall it is a fantastic toothbrush as all Sonicare toothbrushes are, but I feel that you are paying a big upcharge for this Bluetooth mobile app feature that really isn’t worth it in my honest opinion. You’d be better off buying a slightly lower level model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DannyD This is a great tool for improving your brushing technique
I received a free sample of the Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Connected to review and it changed my opinion of the connected feature.
Let me start by saying that this is a great toothbrush. It does an excellent job at cleaning your teeth, and if you use the app, it can teach you how to use it more effectively.
Now a little back story, my wife talked me into trying an electric toothbrush in the first place. We started buying the cheaper disposable models from our local drugstore. Some of those perform better than others, but all performed better than a standard toothbrush. Then I made the jump and bought a set of Sonicare toothbrushes for us about one year ago. These were surprising much better then the disposable electric models we'd previously tried. A few weeks ago I received this toothbrush in exchange for my feedback and it also has made a noticeable improvement in the cleanliness of my mouth.
Back when I was shopping for the set of Sonicare toothbrushes I saw one of the Connected models that sync to your smartphone through Bluetooth and dismissed it as a gimmick. These last few weeks have changed my opinion. Because the toothbrush provides real time feedback though the app, there is a learning curve involved. If you don't do a job brushing a specific area in your mouth, the app will let you know, and you'll have the chance to go back and touch that are up. For the first 10 days this was frustrating me, I always had to go back and re-brush about 3 of the 6 zones in my mouth. Then 3 zones turned into 2, and eventually I managed reduce my touch ups to just one area in my mouth. I'd change the angle of the brush, the motion and the pressure until I started to notice what worked. Now I consistently nail my brushing on the first try. In the past week, I only needed a touch up the day my dog distracted me by poking her head into the bathroom to see what I was doing.
Inside the box are one solid feeling toothbrush, two brush heads, the charging stand, a travel case and some documentation.
The first thing you'll want to do is place your brush on the charger and download the app. Follow the instructions to create a user ID and pair your toothbrush. The toothbrush came with multiple heads, and I was not able to find documentation in the box telling me what the difference was. However, when I opened up the app I was able to find out more about the different heads and what they do differently. Once you know which head you want to use, you slide it onto the brush.
Brushing is an easy, but slightly different process. First you want to put the toothpaste on the brush, then you open your app. Once the app has loaded, you simply turn the toothbrush on and start to brush. The app will let you know which area to brush, and it will provide feedback on your technique in real time. You will see an image of a mouthful of teeth turn whiter as you brush. The brush will buzz, and the app will let you know when it's time to move to a new area. Any areas that need a touch up will he highlighted at the end, and you tap the power button again to start the touch up.
During this time there has only been one thing that I didn't like about the toothbrush or the app. When you start to brush, and accidentally turn the brush off, you need to place the toothbrush back in the charging stand to reset the brush timer. This can be annoying if you are traveling and did not bring the charger with you. Since the battery life is about 2 weeks, I did not pack the charger when traveling for 5 days. I would like to see this functionality built into the app. A more accurate measure of remaining battery life would be nice as well, I have been able to use it over one week once the meter in the app reads "Low".
In conclusion, I am giving my old toothbrush body to my brother, this is now my everyday brush, and I might go out and purchase a second with my own money for my wife.
