ANDOVER, Mass. – Philips North America today announced it has been named one of the “Best Places to Work for Recent Grads” by Experience, a ConnectEDU company. Philips was named to the list out of a field of 300 companies because it excels at fulfilling the priorities recent graduates have when selecting a place to work, such as career advancement opportunities, culture, benefits and work/life balance.
“Today’s top graduates expect more from their careers than just a paycheck,” said Russell Schramm, Head of Talent Acquisition, Philips North America. “Philips empowers new grads to build a personally meaningful career by encouraging them to take the experiences and interests that motivate them in their daily lives and apply them professionally. This results in energized, committed new employees focused on delivering innovations that truly matter to peoples’ lives and overall health and well-being.”
Philips offers its workforce the chance to build a rewarding career and explore job opportunities across a diverse, global organization, with competitive compensation and employee benefits that support the company’s focus on health and well-being. Recent college hires applaud the company’s innovative culture focused on addressing customers’ needs; flexible work arrangements and attendance policies, including time off to participate in the Philips Cares employee volunteer program; and benefits such as up to $10,000 for tuition reimbursement per year, free access to learning and development programs, and fitness reimbursements to encourage health and well-being. In addition, Philips offers mobility across 100 countries and three business sectors, trainee and rotation programs, and a structured program to support career development.
“I’ve always had a passion for creativity, particularly in fashion,” said Alissa Imbriaco, a recent college hire and a field marketing specialist for Philips Lighting. “Philips has given me the opportunity to explore that passion while launching a successful career, as a key contributor to merchandise lighting projects that help improve energy efficient lighting solutions around the world. I am grateful that my academic-to-workplace transition has been a smooth one, and it is largely because my employer has helped enable my well-being and provided opportunities that I never thought I would have at such an early stage of my career.”
The winning companies were selected by comparing employer survey responses to research on what recent grads prioritize when selecting a place to work. The selection criteria for 2013 included career advancement opportunities, culture, benefits (such as salary and perks), and work/life balance. The survey ran from February 2013 through April 2013, garnering responses from more than 300 employers from across the country.
