Toronto Maple Leafs and Philips Give New Meaning to "Game Face"

TORONTO, NOV. 15, 2013 – The Toronto Maple Leafs and Philips are reinventing a revered hockey tradition – the playoff beard – with a contest to encourage Leafs’ fans to start their (well-groomed) playoff beards now as a sign of confidence in their Buds.


And if team spirit isn’t enough, how’s this for motivation? As the Official Shaver of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Philips will award the grand prize winner of the Philips Game Face contest with two ‘between the bench’ seats, their face on the Philips rink board at Air Canada Centre during a Leafs game, dinner with a prominent member of the Leafs Alumni Association, two autographed Leafs jerseys and Philips’ highest-end electric shaver, the SensoTouch 3D. Secondary contest prizes include Leafs tickets, and a Philips Maple Leafs Gift Pack containing the Philips Beard Trimmer 9000 featuring the revolutionary laser-guided grooming technology.

Fans can enter the Game Face contest at where they can upload photos of their own game face, or they can share their game face photo on Twitter using the hashtag #PhilipsGameFace.  Once uploaded, besides being entered into the contest fans will receive an image showing their face on the Philips rink board at Air Canada Centre, suitable for sharing and good-natured mockery on social media. 
One grand prize winner and two secondary winners will be selected through random draw throughout the contest.
