Philips AVENT Celebrates 30 Years of Innovation

STAMFORD, Conn., Sept. 8, 2014  -- Philips AVENT, the brand most recommended by moms worldwide, is celebrating its 30th birthday this year. Since its founding in 1984, Philips AVENT has been listening, learning and innovating alongside healthcare professionals, clinicians and moms to better understand babies' and parents' evolving needs.


In 1984, new fatherhood and more than a few sleepless nights inspired Edward Atkins to create the first ever anti-colic baby bottle, the Philips AVENT Classic Bottle. For the past 30 years, we have continued to emulate the same pioneering and consumer-centric spirit. In recent years, moms shared that they were looking for a more comfortable pumping experience, which led to the development of the Philips AVENT Comfort Breast Pump. This innovative new breast pump features a unique design that allows moms to express milk in a comfortable upright position; and the Natural Bottle leverages a breast-shaped nipple, which creates an easier transition between breast and bottle feeding – and makes the experience easier and more comfortable for parents.

Known for paying attention to the tiny details, Philips AVENT has recently added several new innovations to its product portfolio to continue to make every step of the process - from feeding and pumping to storage solutions and monitors - a better experience for parents and their little ones. New products include Breast Milk Storage Bags, which are leak-proof with double zip for peace of mind, and a Drying Rack, compactly-designed to save space and look good on the kitchen counter.
