ATLANTA, Georgia – MedShare, a global humanitarian aid organization launched a new partnership with Philips, a global leader in health technology. The organizations will collaborate to deliver lifesaving biomedical equipment and technology to medically underserved communities around the world. This equipment and technology is sorely needed in communities where resources are scarce and an estimated 40% of biomedical equipment is inoperable (source: The Lancet). The partnership will deliver equipment primarily through MedShare’s Maternal & Child Health Program as Philips donates state of the art maternal and neonatal medical equipment.
“Our new partnership with Philips will make an immeasurable impact on the communities we serve,” said Charles Redding, CEO and President of MedShare. “This partnership will enable MedShare to sustainably strengthen healthcare in medically underserved communities for years to come. Each piece of equipment donated by Philips will serve hundreds, if not thousands, of patients, and equip healthcare providers with the tools they need to save lives.”
