Claudia Massaranduba

Name: Claudia Massaranduba

Title: Senior HR Analyst

Location: Andover, MA

Time with Philips: 2 years

We met with Claudia Massaranduba, Senior HR Analyst, who works in the Andover, MA office to learn more about her role and responsibilities and how she thrives working so closely with her culture on a day to day basis.

What is your role at Philips?

My role focuses on managing all administration and payroll processes for Brazil. I support senior management in developing, improving, and standardizing regional HR processes as part of the Philips People Services Team (PPS).  PPS is a large team that is focused on serving our employees internally on a day to day basis by providing high quality, timely and cost effective service to the business.

What projects are you working on now?

One of my main projects at the moment is to develop and communicate to upper management a KPI (Key Performance Indicator) dashboard that provides a better visual of Brazil’s HR Shared Service team throughout time. It is a monitoring system that helps us deliver the best quality and effective services to our clients – our employees!

How is Philips different from the other companies you have worked for?

Philips provides a lot of opportunities for growth as well as open communication to upper management, sense of equality. Philips is very much a global company that welcomes and embraces different cultures. The team is devoted to providing optimized, standardized and precise HR solutions to our employees. It is great being part of a team that gives me the opportunity to be continuously making improvements that results in remarkable services to our colleagues in the Philips community in Brazil.

What is the office environment like?

Everyone here is very friendly! We work within Workplace Innovation (WPI) environment, which allows an open concept and provides a sense of “togetherness and equality” that improves not only the communication between teams as it also allows to build stronger relationships between peers and upper management. From frequent potlucks to volleyball games during the summer – it never gets boring at work!

Why did you ultimately decide to join Philips?

My position was exactly what I was looking for at the time. I wanted the opportunity to work directly with Brazil in order to be able to apply all the local market experience I obtained when I adventured myself to Brazil after college. Also, after some research about Philips and learning about the innovative working culture and great benefits - I decided it was worth the move. I also have taken advantage of our tuition reimbursement benefit.  I recently started working towards getting my MBA, and despite the challenge of working full-time and going back to school, I have received great support from my manager that helps me make this possible.

How has this role made you better at what you do?

I like helping people and the fact that I get to work and support “my home country” gives me great satisfaction! I feel that from all the educational, work and cultural experience that I have gained from all of the years that I have been living in the USA – I have learned so much that I feel obligated to share and help my home country to continue to develop. Philips allows me to obtain this personal fulfillment while also helping the company grow, and consequently… help people live healthier lives.
