    Sleep: a women’s edition

Women’s History Month in March celebrates the contributions of women to events in history and raises awareness of the different types of challenges still faced by women today.

This year, the Philips Global Sleep Survey 2021 report found that women are currently facing more challenges with their sleep and are trying a variety of strategies to improve it.

    Let the woman sleep

It’s easy for sleep to be continuously pushed down on people’s list of priorities, even when it is an important part of allowing your body rest and recover.

16% of women surveyed in our 2021 sleep report cited that worry/ stress, a partner’s snoring or restlessness, and a baby or small child are all factors that can limit their ability to have a good night’s sleep.* But when we compromise sleep, rest and relaxation it can slowly wear down on us not only physically, but mentally as well.

Many have found that the COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted their sleep, but our 2021 Global Sleep Survey report shows that women have struggled with sleep issues more so than men.

We want to empower all women to take charge of their sleep

It’s the perfect time to think about how best to empower, support and show appreciation for everything we do for ourselves and the women around us.

Getting a good night’s sleep can help empower women and make them feel like they can seize the day ahead. Whether it is trying a variety of different strategies, from reading to listening to soothing music -  it’s time to seek sleep solutions.

If you are continuously struggling to sleep, it may mean something more serious, like a sleep disorder. Take our quiz to find out if you're at risk of sleep apnea.
