How can I measure my blood pressure?

    Published on 2017-05-18

There are two ways to use the Philips wrist blood pressure monitor: As a standalone device and with the Philips Health App.

For the latter option, make sure that your Philips wrist blood pressure monitor is paired to your Philips HealthSuite health app before your first blood pressure measurement.
For pairing the Philips wrist blood pressure monitor with your Philips HealthSuite health app, please see the pairing instructions in the instructions for use.

    1. Remove all jewelry, such as watches, bracelets, and rings from your wrist and hand. Note: If your doctor has diagnosed you with poor circulation in your left arm, use your right arm.

    2. Roll or push up your sleeve to expose the skin.

    3. Hold your arm upside down with your palm facing up and slide the cuff onto your wrist.

    4. Position the lower edge of the cuff about 1 cm above the palm of your hand.

    5. Fasten the cuff around your wrist, leaving no extra room between the cuff and your skin. If the cuff is too loose the measurement will not be accurate.

    6. Correct posture for measurement:

    7. Make sure you do not wear tight clothing while you are measuring

    8. Sit comfortably with legs uncrossed and feet flat on the floor. Make sure that you sit upright with your back straight

    9. Hold your arm up so that the center of the cuff is at the same level as your heart to ensure correct measurements

    10. Relax your wrist and hand. Do not bend your wrist back, clench your fist, or bend your wrist forward

Please check the DFU of your device for further tips on how to get an accurate measurement.
