My Sonicare FlexCare pressure sensor never activates.

If you feel like the pressure sensor of your Philips Sonicare FlexCare electric toothbrush never turns on, there are a few things you can do to fix this yourself.

You might not be pressing hard enough to trigger the pressure sensor

Here are some steps you can take to see if the pressure sensor is working:

  1. Make sure the sensor is activated (see procedure below)
  2. Check the pressure sensor's function by turning the brush on and pressing directly on the bristles as if you were trying to push them deeper into the brush head. At some point the brush's pressure sensor should trigger and notify you by vibration and sound.
  3. You may need to reset the pressure sensor

Reset the pressure sensor:

Through normal use over time, or if you have dropped the device, you may need to reset the sensor. To reset the pressure sensor, use the following procedure:

  1. Place the handle on a charger that is plugged in to a live outlet
  2. Hold the Power button, the Up sensitivity button (+), and the Mode button for 2 seconds
  3. If successful there will be 3 beeps and the green battery light will flash

If this procedure does not achieve the desired result, the handle will need to be replaced. Contact Philips for a replacement handle.
