Error "Permission denied" shows on my Philips Streamium

    Published on 2017-02-28

Error Permission denied might be displayed on your Philips Streamium if the access is not granted to your media. These simple steps below will solve the issue:

After you set up media streaming, known as media sharing in earlier versions of Windows Media Player, you can choose which music and pictures will be available to stream on devices and computers on your network. You can also decide which devices will have access to your media.

The easiest way is to automatically allow all devices and computers to have access to your media.

If you do not want to adjust individual streaming settings, you can allow all current and future devices on your network to access your media library. Here's how:

Note: If the Windows Media Player is currently open and you are in Now Playing mode, click the Switch to Library button in the upper-right corner of the Player.

Switch to Library button on WMP

Note: You should only allow streaming access to all devices on secure networks. Also, the new settings on Windows Media Player may take a few minutes to take in effective. Please try to look up the media server on your Streamium device a while later again if it does not appear in the list.
