My Philips TV is not responding to the remote control

    Published on 21 March 2023
We are sorry to see you are experiencing remote control issues with your Philips TV. We will walk you through a few simple steps to try to resolve the issue. If the issue still persists, please contact our Customer Support for United States or Canada.

If some or all of the buttons on your remote are not responding, or are responding infrequently, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try that could resolve the issue.

Please ensure that the batteries in the remote are new and that there is nothing placed in front of the TV that could be blocking the IR sensor.
-This test will tell you if your remote is sending a signal to the TV or not.
-You will need a cell phone or a digital camera.
    1. Turn on the camera of your phone.
    2. Point the end of the remote with the IR emitter towards the screen of your phone/camera.
    3. Press and hold the power button on the remote.
    4. If you look at the screen of your phone/camera and see a light being emitted from the remote, the remote is sending an IR signal.
-If the light you see is very faint or flickering, that is an indication that the batteries in the remote are low and should be replaced.

-If the remote is sending a signal, move to the next troubleshooting step.

-If the remote is not sending a signal, you may be using a phone that filters IR signals, but most likely the remote needs to be replaced.
    • Universal remotes are available from multiple retailers, but please reach out to our Call Center for direct replacements and possible warranty eligibility.

-Power OFF the TV and unplug it from the outlet.
-Let it remain unplugged for a full minute.

-Re-plug the unit into the outlet, power on the TV, and see if the issue has been resolved with the remote.

If the remote is sending an IR signal, and the remote is successfully paired with the TV [
that FAQ here: HERE], there may be an issue with the IR sensor in the TV. Please reach out to our Call Center for direct assistance and potential warranty eligibility.
