Frequently Asked Questions

What does my Philips Sonicare Smart brush head do?

Smart brush heads have BrushSync technology. BrushSync will select the right brush modes for you and it will tell you when to replace your brush head.

BrushSync replacement reminder

Your Sonicare smart brush head automatically reminds you to replace your brush head. This is how it works:

  1. Attach a smart brush head to your Philips Sonicare handle.
  2. The brush head replacement icon on your handle will light up green and blink three times.
  3. BrushSync technology will determine the optimal time to change your brush head. This is based on the pressure you apply and times used.
  4. After a while, the replacement reminder icon on your handle lights up amber (see image below)
  5. It is now time to change your brush head.

note: this feature is only available for DiamondClean Smart and ProtectiveClean

BrushSync mode pairing

A chip inside the Smart brush head communicates with the Sonicare toothbrush handle. The handle will automatically recognize the brush head and selects the correct mode and intensity level. This gives you the best brushing experience.

You can manually change these settings at any point. Your toothbrush will remember the settings for the next time.

note: this feature is only available for DiamondClean Smart and ProtectiveClean
