    Troubleshooting

There are white or rusty spots in my Philips Avent Bottle Warmer

If you have white or rusty colored spots in your bottle warmer, your bottle warmer has lime scale build-up. Clean or descale your bottle warmer to remove the spots.
Note:  We recommend to descale the bottle warmer every four weeks to ensure it continues to work efficiently. In hard water areas, it can be necessary to descale more frequent.

    How to clean

    1. After each use, unplug the baby bottle warmer and let it cool down
    2. Remove the water from the baby bottle warmer for hygienic reasons
    3. Wipe the outside and inside of the baby bottle warmer with a moist cloth
Do not use abrasive, anti-bacterial cleaning agents, chemical solvents or sharp tools to clean the baby bottle warmer.

Note: If you used the baby bottle warmer to warm containers with baby food, make sure that no spilled baby food remains on the bottom of the baby bottle warmer.

    How to descale

    1. Mix 60ml/2oz of white vinegar with 120ml/4oz of cold water to descale your bottle warmer.
    2. Pour the solution into the bottle warmer.
    3. Switch on the bottle warmer and select the milk warming setting for contents under 180ml/6oz setting and let the appliance operate for 10 minutes.
    4. Leave the solution in the bottle warmer until all scale has dissolved.
    5. Pour away the solution and rinse the warmer with tap water. If you still see traces of scale after rinsing, repeat the descaling procedure.

Note: You can also use citric acid based descalers.
Note: Do not use other types of descalers.
