I wanted to be able to stream MP3s wirelessly from my computer to my sound system in the family room. I have found this product does the job for a very reasonable cost. Because it both connects to a wireless network (secured or unsecured) and to the internet, I gained the added bonus of internet radio and other features. I found the world of internet radio to be huge and quite good. Since I have owned my Streamium, there have been a couple of firmware upgrades that happen automatically through the internet connection. I recommend an N-series wireless router and repeater if the distance from your router are more than a couple rooms between. Otherwise you may suffer from a weak signal and slow performance due to buffering. One firmware upgrade I am waiting for is to be able to use cross-fading (one song blends into the next) with a variable setting.

Love the machine, but there is no support for updating the CD titles that the machine recognizes. Too bad because it was a great way for my kids to have access to everything.
