The American College of Radiology (ACR) has released three new medical imaging guidelines and revised nine others. The evidence-based guidelines assist physicians and other providers in making the most appropriate imaging or treatment decisions.
The new guidelines cover:
- Lung cancer screening
- Postmenopausal subacute or chronic pelvic pain
- Suspected new-onset and known nonacute heart failure
The revised guidelines include:
- Chronic knee pain
- Breast pain
- Suspected appendicitis
ACR said it conducts a two-month focused comment period following the release of new or revised guidelines.
