HAIs are a critical threat

HAIs not only threaten patient safety, but they are an unpredictable and costly expense for healthcare organizations. IntelliSpace Epidemiology can help.

Paper reveals advantages of applying genomics to
the identification of bacterial transmissions

An important paper in Nature Scientific Reports describes Philips’ new, powerful technique to carry out the task of comparing large groups of bacterial genomes rapidly and prospectively to parse related from unrelated strains. The study results revealed that Philip’s new method was more accurate at recognizing related bacterial strains in analysis of both prospective and retrospective data. It had substantial advantages in accurate, prospective analysis of genome data, thereby making it possible to identify bacterial transmissions sooner after they occur.
