4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player

HAD PLAYER OVER A YEAR, IT MAKES 4K LOOK AWESOME,IT DOES EVERYTHING THAT YOU WOULD EXPECT

This Philips unit is not the light weight trick pony player that I see in so many of the big box stores. It is well designed, compact, and precisely constructed. The remote control fits a man sized hand and buttons are nicely placed for almost intuitive selection. Installation time took less than one minute. Play of Blu-ray DVD on my 4K (non high dynamic range) TV monitor was perfect and beautiful. The unit’s compact design allowed it to be placed next to my 19-inch wide dual channel dTV receiver on the shelf below the monitor. The compact size will allow this Philips player to fit in the small entertainment cabinet of my motor home. To sum up; the design and build quality, the performance, and the affordable price, make this the 4K Blu-Ray HDR player purchase of choice for me.

I am so thrilled to have purchased the (PHILIPS 5701) 4k/3d player. it's the best purchase I've made in about six years. it's just so reliable and very dependable. just so very satisfied.

This works great. It even makes my blu ray discs sharper and clearer. The only drawback, (not the player) is that my 4k TV is not the high dynamic range TV, which the player pointed out, which has even better picture.

setup was easy and without issues - performance on both Blu-ray HD and Blu-ray Ultra HD was outstanding; both picture & sound - it worked well on several of our televisions without issues - remote was nice to use - highly recommended - Dolby Vision was our only concern/reservation

Product works very well. Great value. Watched Revenant as my first 4k movie disc. The picture and sound were breathtaking.

product has performed as expected especially with 4k movies. sound and picture quality is great. the only enhancement that could be made would be adding more apps since this unit only comes with netflix and youtube installed. hopefully that will be updated with new firmware in the future.

I bought my player today and it was very easy to set up and sync with my network. An update was available and was performed without any problems. I watched a 4K movie tonight, (Creed), that came with the player and enjoyed it. The picture and sound was great.

I got this player to go in the bedroom. I liked the form factor as I could swap it between the bedroom system and the HT system. i got this player so i could take advantage of the advanced audio ATMOS/DTS:X on almost all UHD discs. in the bedroom I have 5.1.2 and in the HT I have 7.1.4 so, audio is important to me. this player has played every single disc I've put in it, be it 1080p blu or UHD and it has not failed. I also want to say that for those who are like me, who don't have a 4K tv, it's ok, this player will still work on your 1080p tv and it will still give you the advanced audio as long as you set the player to bitstream and turn off the secondary audio. the picture is beautiful and of course, the audio is amazing since it bitstreams. I was going to keep this in the bedroom waiting for "another brand" to release their UHD player for the HT, but, now, having had this for a couple of weeks, I may just save the money and buy another of these players and have one in each of my systems. this thing is legit and it's a game changer for sure. Philips has a winner on their hands! it's quicker than I expected it to be as far as playing discs. it does have a power brick, but, it's manageable and it affords the player to be physically cooler. I watched 5 episodes of Game of Thrones S5 in ATMOS binged and the player was almost cold to the touch. the picture and sound from this player both blew me away! this player is a sleeper, don't miss out on it thinking it's not a true player, this thing will surprise you as it did me. I highly recommend it.
