briteLITE 6 energy light

I have used this light nightly for over 3 years, and it has made such an improvement in my Parkinson's disease! It improves my mood by reducing anxiety/depression and also has smoothed out the on/off effects of Parkinson medication. My balance is better. My walking is better. My tremor is reduced. I sleep better. Using this light daily is so important to me that I will travel with this light everywhere I go: to a local family party for an evening, or even by airplane to distant places. I highly recommend this light. I have tried another light that produces 10000 lux but this particular light was recommended to me specifically for Parkinson's. A clinic in Australia has done extensive scientific research using this very light.

This light is expensive but I noticed a huge difference. I felt warmer, had more energy and of course felt happier. The best endorsement of all? My dog loves to lay in front of the light when in use.

Well designed product with various settings for count down to off in 15 minute increments or continuous on mode. As with any product that uses a light bulb, the fluorescent light tube will fail at some point and must be replaced. I recommend Philips add a short video on YouTube that explains how to do this along with ordering information for replacement bulbs. Buy Philips replacement bulbs to ensure same level of performance in regard to the frequency of light and bulb longevity.

I purchased this product in 2007 when it was from the Apollo Health company (bought by Philips). It is still going strong and I use it about 6 months of the year, 3-45 minutes a day. I've traveled with it (in its original packaging) though it is not compact like the newer models. I've used it a my bedside, at my desk, near my comfy chair when I read. I significantly reduced my need for medication during the winter, helps me wake up and actually help get my kids to school, and gives me a push to go exercise - which in turn also helps my SAD. Highly recommend - it's worth the money to feel more like yourself during the dark and cloudy falls/winters. (I also use it when 105+ temps keep us locked in the AC for half the summer.)

clean and simple design. works fine even when i only had 1/2 the bulbs functioning. got this for my hound and she really seemed to enjoy it in the early morning hours. customer service was prompt and very helpful with responding and sending out replacement parts. replacement bulb section was a bit of a pain to install. all said, product is approved by human and canine.

This is a very effective light for maintaining my good mood and sleep. This is the second light box I have owned. The first was bought from Appolo Light (now Phillips?) over 20 years ago(?) That one lasted forever and I hope this one does too. This box gives me both the psychological experience of sitting in full spectrum light(like being in the sun-it does not tan you, though) and also the blue wave lengths that research says are most effective for mood. I find I need only 15 minutes a day to get the effect I want. --45 minutes was too much for me. (perhaps --if I been depressed when I bought it , I might have needed 30-45 minutes to start.) I am very pleased with this light. I recommend it with no reservations.

I live in a area of the u.s that"s fairly gloomy and it does get depressing for many people included myself. i bought this lamp on ebay around 2012 and its now 2015. I love the lamp, i live in the country and had my neighbors call asking what the brite lite was when it was night time . lol. i love the self timer that is a setting option , although its a touch pad its fairly east the press , but i like buttons better. My fault that i broke one of the two bulbs inside the light , but it was easy to pry apart to replace it. the buld itself has created its own problem. Usually there would be a part number watt ...or something so that it can be ordered or easily replaced. I am still looking and will be contacting Philips after this review. I also like that it has a handy carry cubby in the back for your hand to grip onto. Also the warmth that comes from the lamp is great. i love the lamp and am freaking out a little that it wasnt made easier for bulb replacement.

This product is easy to use, looks good and performs great!

The light is bright and adequate. however the touch buttons are annoying. The light topples if you press with one hand. You must use both hands and hope for the best. Several times I have not been able to turn it on no matter how i pressed. I would buy it again if they fixed the pressure buttons.
