Many arrhythmias don’t follow a two week schedule
Some cardiac ambulatory monitors can only be used for up to 14 days. MCOT, however, may detect arrhythmias for up to 30 days. Nearly 25% of first notifiable arrhythmias for patients with a 30-day MCOT prescription would have been missed with a 14-day monitoring period [4].
