As pioneers in CT simulation, Philips introduced the first RT (Radiation Therapy) system in 2000. The company continues to drive innovation forward with Rembra RT, first launched at ASTRO in 2025 to advance precision cancer care.
CT simulation is a foundational step in preparing for treatment for radiation therapy. The images and patient-positioning information captured during simulation inform the planning process that follows. As clinicians manage complex workflows and growing demand, they need technology that fits the realities of daily practice.
Philips is expanding its CT simulation portfolio with Multimodality Simulation Workspace (MM Sim Advance) and Mid-Position on Rembra RT.
The new MM Sim Advance, with an updated software platform and operating system for long-term operational stability and ongoing security compliance, provides a vendor-neutral, centralized workspace that brings together medical images and patient data from multiple imaging systems into a single, streamlined environment. Radiation therapy teams can efficiently review, organize, and manage information from CT, MR, PET/CT, Spectral CT, and other imaging modalities regardless of vendor. The solution supports multimodality image registration, fusion, contouring, and visualization, enabling clinicians to work with all relevant patient information in one place. With an intuitive workflow designed for smooth navigation, accessible directly from the Rembra RT console or remotely for added flexibility, MM Sim Advance facilitates collaboration among care team members to support simple geometric plans for virtual simulation and patient marking. By connecting imaging data, clinical information, and RT preparation tools within a unified workspace, MM Sim Advance can help radiation oncology teams make informed decisions with confidence throughout the simulation and treatment planning process.
MM Sim Advance with Mid-Position on Rembra RT, expands Philips’ CT portfolio of radiation therapy simulation solutions, helping clinical teams efficiently leverage multimodality imaging and radiation therapy-specific tools to prepare patients for treatment planning and delivery.
With MM Sim Advance and Mid-Position on Rembra RT, we are continuing to build a portfolio that reflects the needs of radiation therapy care teams and helps them stay focused on their patients.

“CT simulation is a critical part of preparing for radiation therapy,” said Dan Xu, Business Leader of CT at Philips. “With MM Sim Advance and Mid-Position on Rembra RT, we are continuing to build a portfolio that reflects the needs of radiation therapy care teams and helps them stay focused on their patients.”
One of the new and most significant capabilities in MM Sim Advance is Mid-Position, available on Rembra RT, Philips’ newest 85 cm wide-bore CT simulator for radiation therapy. Designed to support more consistent handling of patient motion during CT simulation, Mid-Position uses 4D imaging to visualize tumor shape and position across the breathing cycle, helping reduce motion-related uncertainty, target volumes, artifacts and noise. Combined with Rembra RT’s 23 lp/cm high resolution imaging [1], wide 85 cm extended field of view [2] and next-generation 4DCT capabilities, it supports improved motion management, target delineation, and treatment-planning preparation.
Rembra RT, MM Sim Advance with Mid-Position support complementary and connected stages of the radiation therapy workflow. Rembra RT supports patient setup and acquisition of the CT simulation images. MM Sim Advance brings imaging information together to support multimodality simulation and treatment planning preparation, enabling clinicians to access simulation tools directly at the Rembra RT console or remotely. As part of the MM Sim Advance platform, Mid-Position supports the management of respiratory motion during simulation, connecting smoothly with all treatment planning software.
Together, MM Sim Advance and Mid-Position on Rembra RT are designed to support radiation therapy teams as they move from simulation to planning, while keeping their attention on each patient and the care ahead.
Philips will feature MM Sim Advance, Mid-Position and Rembra RT at the 2026 American Society for Radiation Oncology Annual Meeting, September 27–30 in Boston. Visit Philips at booth #2438 to learn more.
