Increasing access to maternal care in underserved areas

Philips is working with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to develop an AI-based application suite that will be deployed on Philips’ Lumify handheld ultrasound to improve the quality and accessibility of obstetric care in low-income countries and underserved communities. The project builds upon expertise from a program in Kenya, where midwives were assisted in performing ultrasound-based pregnancy screening with real-time remote support from radiologists.
