Cerebral aneurysm treatment

See clearly and navigate efficiently when treating cerebral aneurysms

Visualizing new, less opaque devices presents new challenges during treatment planning and device placement, which can lengthen your procedure time for cerebral aneurysm. This makes superb 2D and 3D imaging more important than ever to guide treatment decisions and device placement, and efficiently manage radiation dose as you decide, guide, treat and confirm during cerebral aneurysm intervention.

Philips SmartCT Angio and Roadmap

The next leap in simplifying and advancing 3D imaging for cerebral aneurysm treatment

Improved visibility of vasculature in cerebral anatomies and real-time 3D view to aid guidewire and catheter navigation through complex vessel structures help enhance interventional confidence for complex procedures.

Workflow innovations to help staff work efficiently and easily, maintaining a patient focus

Immediately assessing the impact of flow diverters is crucial during cerebral aneurysm treatment. AneurysmFlow converts information from a SmartCT Angio acquisition and 2D DSA flow sequences into quantitative flow values to visualize and quantify blood flow patterns before and after flow diverter deployment. SmartCT Angio generates a complete high-resolution 3D visualization of cerebral vasculature from a single rotational angiography run and controlled via the touchscreen at tableside. This can improve visibility of tortuous or complex anatomy that may not be seen on a 2D or DSA image.

Clinical solutions for treating cerebral aneurysms

  • Excellent visibility at very low X-ray dose levels with Azurion so you can see more during neurovascular interventions and elevate treatment confidence
  • Integrated biplane systems put you in firm control from a single touchscreen at tableside to enhance decision-making and run an entire case without breaking sterility
  • Provides simplified 3D visualization and measurements at tableside to help improve treatment outcomes
  • Creates the ideal treatment environment with specific tools and workflows for multiple clinical specialties in one room, supported by value-added services

Improved flexibility and speed in treating cerebral aneurysms

  • SmartCT Vaso enables visualization of low contrast soft tissue, contrast-enhanced vessels, and high contrast objects (flow diverters, stents, intrasaccular devices, coils) in one view, allowing users to assess device deployment.
  • SmartCT Roadmap enables precise navigation using dynamic 3D image guidance.
  • RoadMap Pro improves visibility of cerebral vasculature.
  • AneurysmFlow helps visualize blood flow patterns during the procedure and calculate blood flow post-treatment.
  • SmartCT Angio helps visualize tortuous pathologies in 3D imaging.

Neuroradiology, 2013. 55(11): p. 1365-1372. Routine neuro interventions comprise of DSA and fluoroscopy usage. (95% CI 56%, 68% for routine diagnostic neuro endovascular procedures, 95% CI 58%, 71% for routine interventional neuro endovascular procedures). The results of the application of dose reduction techniques will vary depending on the clinical task, patient size, anatomical location and clinical practice. The interventional radiologist assisted by a physicist as necessary has to determine the appropriate settings for each specific clinical task. Results based on total dose area product from a single center retrospective historically controlled cohort study (Karolinska Hospital - Solna, Sweden) on 614patients (302 for Allura Xper and 312 for AlluraClarity) undergoing neuro endovascular procedures.
