Philips MRCAT allows you to generate CT-like density information right on the MR console –based on a single, standardized scan. This results in an MR-only radiotherapy workflow, which eliminates error-prone MR-CT registration and reduces patient burden.

MR-only radiotherapy planning

MRCAT is an extension to the Philips Ingenia MR-RT that enables the creation of 3D density maps for dose calculations based on MR imaging only. This results in attenuation maps with continuous Hounsfield units and consistency in image output, independent of operator experience.

  • MRCAT is empowered by Compressed SENSE, resulting in scan times with a maximum of 3:02 minutes.
  • MRCAT data can be used to generate MR-based digitally reconstructed radiographs (DRRs) in TPS.

MRCAT Brain is intended for radiotherapy planning of primary and metastatic tumors. MRCAT Brain creates Pseudo CT, while allowing the usage of contrast agent. The MRCAT Brain source scan comes with a sub millimeter resolution for contouring purposes and is the base for calculating Pseudo CT.
