More Telehealth for Medicare Home Health

November 1, 2018

Medicare has finalized a proposal that will likely make telehealth more widely available in home health care.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is allowing the cost of remote patient monitoring to be reported by home health agencies as allowable costs on the Medicare cost report form.  CMS says this will likely foster the adoption of emerging technologies by home health agencies and result in more effective care-planning as data are shared among patients, caregivers, and providers.

In comments filed with CMS in September, Philips strongly supported the CMS effort.
