In 2016, Philips rose to #1 in the international iF ranking for design6, one of the longest running and highly regarded design competitions in the world. The 48 design awards we earned reflect the increasing importance to the Philips mission of communication, concept and service design.

Philips design excellence was recognized with 37 prestigious Red Dot awards in 2016, including a “Red Dot: Best of the Best”7 award for the Lumify Ultra-Mobile Ultrasound solution.
In the 2016 Interbrand annual ranking of the world’s most valuable brands, Philips rose in rank to #41 from #47, with a total estimated brand value of approximately $11.3 billion.8
Dow Jones Index

Philips became the Industry Group Leader (the highest position) in the Capital Goods category in the 2016 Dow Jones Sustainability Index5, achieving the highest possible scores in three sections, including our initiatives in climate strategy and operational eco-efficiency.

ISO 55000 certification

In 2016, Philips earned ISO 55000 certification.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies.10 ISO 55000 is intended for use by organizations who are:
