Cambridge, MA – Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), a global leader in health technology, has received a score of 90 out of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. Philips joins 1,384 major U.S. businesses that were also ranked in the 2023-2024 CEI. “At Philips, we are committed to creating the best place to work for all our employees by creating a culture of inclusion, equity and belonging. We celebrate our differences and fully leverage them to help build capability on topics such as gender transition in the workplace, mental health and employee well-being,” said Sonam Lalwani, Head of Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing, Philips North America. “Our inclusion in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our people to cultivate an environment where everyone feels valued and supported, and is further validation of our collective effort to make Philips a great place to work.” The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars: Non-discrimination policies across business entities; Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families; Supporting an inclusive culture; and Corporate social responsibility. The results of the 2023-2024 CEI showcase how U.S.-based companies are promoting LGBTQ+-friendly workplace policies in the U.S. and abroad. The first year of the CEI included 319 participants, and the 2023-2024 CEI now includes 1,384 participants. Philips' commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion is reflected in its CEI score, which considers several factors. The company provides employee education on gender identity and sexual orientation, and offers inclusive benefits for LGBTQ+ employees. Its Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG) plays a crucial role in fostering an inclusive workplace culture, ensuring equitable benefits and equal access to opportunities and development for LGBTQ+ employees. Additionally, Philips holds its suppliers and vendors to non-discrimination policies to further support diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
At Philips, we are committed to creating the best place to work for all our employees by creating a culture of inclusion, equity and belonging.
