At Williamson Health, an independent nonprofit health system serving Williamson County, Tennessee, innovative cardiovascular care isn’t just for big-city hospitals – it’s happening right in the heart of the community. In one of Tennessee’s fastest-growing regions, where care needs are becoming more complex, Williamson Health is redefining what a community-based health system can deliver. At Williamson Health's flagship facility, Williamson Medical Center, the answer isn’t just more technology – it’s using technology with purpose to solve real clinical challenges. In partnership with Philips, Williamson Health is expanding access to advanced cardiac care by focusing on what matters most: smart solutions, seamless workflows and better care for more people.
“With Philips, we’re delivering top-tier treatment to patients where they live, work and raise their families,” says Phil Mazzuca, Chief Executive Officer of Williamson Health. “Advanced cardiac care shouldn’t be confined to major cities or require long drives. Our new Cardiac Center demonstrates that independent health systems and hospitals can deliver expert care – right in our own communities.”
“This partnership shows how world-class care can be delivered locally – without compromising clinical quality, access, safety or the patient experience,” adds Jeff DiLullo, Chief Region Leader, Philips North America. “Our goal is to help forward-thinking health systems like Williamson Health meet rising patient needs with scalable innovation.”
Williamson Health’s newly expanded Cardiac Center at Williamson Medical Center is powered by the latest image-guided therapy and informatics solutions from Philips, including Azurion, Cardiovascular Workspace and Philips Hemo. Together, these technologies are helping Williamson to not only transform how care is delivered, but where it can be accessed.

Williamson has equipped its interventional labs with the Azurion image-guided therapy system, allowing physicians to perform complex, minimally invasive procedures with exceptional precision, supported by real-time imaging and efficient workflows. Philips Hemo with IntelliVue X3, a hemodynamic monitoring solution that is integrated with Azurion, allows users tableside control of hemodynamic monitoring during procedures.
For patients, that can mean a smoother care experience, with timely diagnoses and treatment options that can be delivered closer to home. “Technology is transforming more than just the procedure room – it's expanding access to advanced care across our community,” says Mazzuca. “We're now able to manage more complex cases locally, reduce unnecessary patient transfers and deliver high-quality care that’s both accessible and conveniently located.”
The need for smarter, more accessible care has never been clearer. According to the 2025 Future Health Index from Philips, 83% of US healthcare professionals say they lose clinical time due to incomplete or inaccessible patient data, with nearly half losing over 45 minutes per shift. For Williamson Health, Philips Cardiovascular Workspace makes that information more accessible, bringing a consolidated view of patient data, including cardiovascular imaging, to help physicians deliver care more efficiently.

Philips approaches every partnership knowing there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. For Williamson Health, that meant co-creating a strategy rooted in shared goals: expanding access, improving efficiency and enhancing the patient experience. “With Williamson Health, we aligned early around a shared commitment to innovation and efficiency,” says DiLullo. “Their vision for delivering advanced cardiovascular care that’s accessible, safe and sustainable matched perfectly with our experience in enterprise informatics and image-guided therapy.” “Technology on its own isn’t the solution,” DiLullo adds. “It has to be thoughtfully implemented and aligned with the realities of frontline care. When that happens – when it’s done in partnership – you unlock the full potential to deliver better outcomes and better experiences for patients and providers.”
While Williamson Health is still in the early months of operating with its new Philips systems, the foundation is in place for meaningful, long-term transformation. With advanced tools now in hand, the cardiac care team is positioned to take on more complex cases, work more efficiently and deliver a patient experience rooted in both innovation and compassion. With access to real-time data, smart imaging, and integrated digital workflows, the hospital is creating an environment where care teams can work with greater confidence – and patients can receive advanced treatment in a familiar, trusted setting. Most importantly, the new Cardiac Center at Williamson Medical Center reflects a forward-looking investment in what healthcare should be: equitable, scalable and built to grow alongside the community it serves. “Access to care should never be limited by geography,” says Mazzuca. “This partnership enables us to better meet the needs of our patients today while positioning us to serve our rapidly growing community well into the future.”
The challenges Williamson Health is addressing are echoed across the country. According to the 2025 Future Health Index, fragmented systems and administrative burdens are costing U.S. healthcare professionals valuable time – and, ultimately, limiting patient access. With 83% of clinicians reporting lost time due to inaccessible data, the integrated solutions now in place at Williamson Health represent a critical step toward restoring time for what matters most: care.
